EasyStreet Passes SAS 70 Type II Audit
Beaverton, Ore. — January 11, 2010 — EasyStreet® Online Services Inc. has announced the successful completion of its SAS 70 Type II audit.
A widely recognized auditing standard adopted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in 1992, the Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 audit report provides independent third-party verification regarding the validity and functionality of a service provider’s internal controls and processes. This is an important document for all customers and prospects, especially those who must validate the security of their financial and sensitive information controls.
At the conclusion of a SAS 70 audit, the auditing firm renders an opinion on the service organization’s controls, including whether the controls are relevant and suitably designed. A Type II audit examines whether the controls are operating effectively for a specified time period.
When the auditing firm tests and concludes that the service provider’s controls are in place and functioning as described, the auditor renders an “unqualified opinion.” While a SAS 70 audit is technically not a “pass” or “fail” audit, the receipt of an unqualified opinion from the service auditor is often referred to as “passing” the audit.
