Sustainable IT Practices

EasyStreet Sustainability Logos
EasyStreet’s long-standing commitment to sustainable IT practices is based on the belief that green behaviors are critically important to the health of society and the world. With a corporate goal of becoming Oregon’s greenest IT services provider, EasyStreet is on the forefront of design and implementation of sustainable IT in Oregon.

EasyStreet buys offsets for 100% of the electricity, water and natural gas it consumes.

Customers benefit from EasyStreet’s responsible choices

More than any other local IT-as-a-Service provider, EasyStreet embraces its responsibility to the environment.

  • EasyStreet’s technologically advanced Data Center 2 serves as a model for energy efficient data centers throughout the Northwest and beyond.
  • It is the first to quality for funding through the Oregon Department of Energy’s Small Scale Energy Loan Program (SELP).
  • 100% Portland General Electric Clean Wind℠ power offsets means zero-carbon-footprint operations — a benefit that is passed on to customers wishing to reduce their own carbon footprints.
  • With over 5,000,000 kWh of renewable energy purchased annually, EasyStreet is a member of the U.S. EPA Green Power Leadership Club.
  • A rainwater capture system in Data Center 2 provides the majority of water needed for cooling, limiting environmental impact.
  • 100% of city water usage is offset by Bonneville Environmental Foundation Water Restoration Certificates — the first data center in the country to do so.
  • EasyStreet is a member of NW Natural’s Smart Energy™ Circle and contributes to Smart Energy at the 100% offset level.
  • EasyStreet’s parking lot contains an EV charging station available for customer and community use.

An active internal green team keeps sustainability moving forward

To secure its role as Oregon’s greenest IT services provider, EasyStreet makes sustainability a key part of its company culture, not only in its data centers but in its general office practices as well. Examples include:

  • Empowering an internal Green Team – including the CEO, key executives, managers and staff members from all departments – to evaluate and initiate sustainable practices.
  • Utilizing a full kitchen with washable tableware instead of plastic and paper to reduce waste, using filtered tap water instead of bottled water, and using environmentally friendly dishwasher soap as well as recycled paper towels and hand towels.
  • Practicing a comprehensive recycling program with a high participation rate, and even a bin for waste that can be composted.
  • Replacing CRT monitors with low-power LCD screens and using 100% post-consumer paper for routine office printing.

All EasyStreet employees actively work to lessen the environmental consequences of energy consumption that too often go hand-in-hand with being a data center-based business.
